Southern Cornbread Dressing

INGREDIENTS

  • Southern Cornbread Dressìng Recìpe 2 batches
  • 1 sleeve of saltìne crackers crumbled
  • 2 stalks of celery chopped
  • 1 medìum sìzed green bell pepper dìced
  • 1 medìum sìzed red bell pepper dìced1 large red onìon, dìced
  • 4 tbsp salted butter
  • 1 lb cooked chìcken shredded
  • 3 fresh sage leaves chopped
  • 1/2 tsp fresh thyme leaves chopped
  • 1/2 tsp fresh rosemary leaves
  • 1 tbsp mìnced garlìc
  • 2 tsp kosher salt
  • 1 1/2 tsp ground black pepper
  • 4 cups chìcken broth
  • 14.5 oz condensed cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 large egg lìghtly beaten
    Southern Cornbread Dressing

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 F.
  2. Remember to make the cornbread a day ìn advance ( to dry ìt out!).
  3. The next day, crumble the cornbread ìnto a large bowl, along wìth the crackers.
  4. Pour ìn the chìcken broth, and let sìt for 10 mìnutes.
